           Reiki, pronounced Ray-Key is system of natural healing developed by Dr. Mikao Usui. Reiki means Universal life force energy. It is a loving, caring and healing energy that promotes health and balance in all areas of life. At Rays of Light we teach combined class/courses of Usui Reiki and Karuna . Both are powerful healing energies that work together promoting wellness and development of Self.

What does Reiki do?

Firstly, Reiki is not a religion, nor a new age practice, nor a cult. Reiki has been used by followers of Christianity, Buddhism, Shintoism, Hinduism and Islam, and is a spiritual practice that compliments any faith as a hands on healing practice.

 Reiki can help alleviate suffering whether it be of physical, emotional, mental, spiritual in nature, meaning that Reiki heals and is a holistic system. However this statement is not a guarantee or a promise that someone will be relieved of any ailment whatsoever with a single or multiple Reiki treatments. In most cases Reiki does enhance the effects of medical treatment when used in conjunction with it. An underlying principle of Reiki is that it can do no harm and cannot be used for any harmful purpose.

 Another purpose of Reiki that was hoped for by Dr. Usui was that Reiki would help people obtain enlightenment thought the practice of living Reiki’s principles, and the use of the energy to enhance one’s spiritual evolution. Having the ability to use Reiki does not guarantee enlightenment either. But to place in the right direction by living and being Reiki.

 Reiki enhances the body’s natural ability to heal itself. It increases vitality and stamina, works on al levels if sent to the different levels of mental, emotional and spiritual and all layers of the auric field all of which we will cover over level one and two. Reiki treatments release blocked energy’s and patterns and promotes relaxation and reduces stress. Reiki energy has an innate intelligence and goes where it is needed in the body and aura. Reiki aids cleansing of body toxins both energetic and physical and can over time, enhance stamina, intuition, meditation and spiritual evolution. Reiki also works on plants, animals, and even machines and has been used in the larger healing of the earth and in major world events as well. Reiki will work for you personally and a good tool to help others as well.

 Reiki and other subtle healing energies are valuable tools for anyone whether they have health, emotional, mental, or spiritual issues or want to empower their personal evolution. Many people also like to get regular treatments as a relaxing treat. Reiki can open doors to your higher part of your own spiritual being. Reiki treatments and practice can increase the flow of higher vibrations of energy thought your aura and into the physical body. Reiki energy works to harmonize, and bring all aspects of your, physical, emotional, mental and spiritual into balance. 

The use of Reiki as a relaxation and stress reducing technique is becoming accepted and widespread. In addition to its use in supporting treatment of illness and injury. Reiki enhances other body work and healing techniques and sports performance as well as assisting with spiritual development. Today you will learn to give Reiki treatments yourself, plants and animals. In level two you will learn to use Reiki on others and appliances and how to do distance healing.

 Sometimes people have unreasonable expectations Reiki both as clients and practitioners. Reiki does not often confer an instant miraculous cure of any condition. Reiki works to restore energetic balance and repair things such as blockages and tears in your/others energy field, which create disease and unhappiness and allows for energies to pass in you allowing you to access more self-knowledge, in turning teaching you the pattern and learning how to change the pattern that created the block in the first place.

 Some conceptualize Reiki as this energy coming from god, other say it is the seven healing rays, and other try to view this energy in terms of physics. Many theories have been talked about and none are any close to the mark than any other. To define Reiki is like trying to grasp a handful of water, the tighter you grip the more that slips thought your fingers. It would seem that attempts to grasp to any one meaning is to shut off experiencing Reiki, as it is, in the moment. Reiki is a very personal and individual experience to be share and accepted as it is.

 Reiki was described by Usui in his manual, “The Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai” as being intuitive. Meaning Reiki goes where it is needed having intelligence of its own and flows in response to the needs of the client, the hand positions given to you today only allow the energy to get there faster, and more direct. Mrs. Takata taught that Reiki goes to causes. It treats symptoms, but it goes to the root cause. In practicing Reiki that energy enters the practitioner thought the crown, and then down into the hands, and also emanates though the whole body.
